A bit about our ranch…
The Ghost Canyon Ranch was established back in the 1878. The original homestead house still exists today. In 1954 the Engberg famiuly provided a summer program at Ghost Canyon Ranch where children from the cities could come to learn to ride with self-confidence and feel the “glory of being tall in the saddle.” Mr. Engberg came down with ALS, which forced the sale of the ranch to the Vicker’s in 1970. The Vicker’s ran a girls horse camp from the 1970-1985. Now, Ghost Canyon Ranch is home to Trevor and Laura Bryan and their family. They couldn’t pass up the gorgeous, rustic, peaceful feeling the ranch offered. With their love for nature, horse and the Black Hills, Trevor and Laura have ventured out to bring guest the best the Black Hills have to offer.
Nestled in the heart of the Black Hills of South Dakota and just a few short minutes from South Dakota’s #1 attraction, Mount Rushmore, guest at Ghost Canyon Ranch are directly across from the Black Hills National Forest which covers over 1,900 square miles. Just a few short minutes away is Custer State Park 71,000 acre paradise! 40 minutes from Crazy Horse Memorial and Mount Rushmore is just over the hill!
